The email campaigns have been pushed out in stages in the run up to the summer holidays. The campaigns consist of different messages from providing information to customers then encouraging them to book with a discount further down the line. The three email campaigns will be sent out 1 per week starting 3 weeks prior to the children breaking up for summer.
Email number one
The first email campaign makes the target audience aware that summer is almost here, personalisation is used in the subject of the email and the preview text allows the audience to see that they get a free ice cold slush with every wristband which may make the customer click and open the email. The content contains some generic images and 4 popular deals, with a call to action button "even better deals await" which diverts the users to the website. Does It Serve Its Purpose?
The email campaigns do serve their intended purpose. They make customers aware of the deals running throughout summer and they also make people aware of the promotions currently running. The email stand out and are designed with the user in mind, the subject is personalised to help with improving the open rates.
How Would You Do it Differently?
The next email campaigns will be set up with triggers and will send based on what people view and do on the website, when certain content is looked at, or added to basket, emails will automatically be triggered to be sent out, increasing the traffic to the website. Happy birthday emails will be sent to customers who we have stored data on the birthday. For the next email campaigns I would also embed some video content for users to view within the email and segment the audience beforehand to send the correct content to the correct people.
